 The Musikverein in Vienna

Many music lovers around the world are convinced that the building of the Society of Music Friends in Vienna, which opened in 1870, houses what is arguably “the most beautiful concert hall in the world.” The unique Musikverein building is a source of wonder, but it also gives pause for thought. What lies behind this building? How does it function? How does it come to life? How does it continue to live up to its mission of being a truly comprehensive home for music?
