Liebenau Camp: Excavation and Remembrance

Graz Museum

The exhibition centers on the archaeological finds from the site of the former Liebenau Camp and the research conducted on them. These objects are silent witnesses to history. Displaying them brings together research, remembrance, and social responsibility. During the Nazi era, the Liebenau Camp served as a camp for resettlers and forced laborers, but it was also a site of Nazi crimes. Many of the artifacts date from those years, while others come from the periods before or after. Under the theme “Excavating and Remembering,” the exhibition aims to examine the past and explain its significance for our present.
